Artist's Note: When people ask "why doesn't she just leave?", they don't realize that leaving is the most dangerous time, but not the most difficult. The afterward is the hardest time, especially when children are involved. Usually the abuser will continue to stalk the survivor for years, unable to let go of the control. This is one of many reaons why awareness is important so that communities will learn how to help people with resources and correct information and not just tell them to leave.
